The Wedding

21st February, 2004 - the day that saw the Wedding of Andrew to Alicia. Here are some photos of the day.

last meal

Frantic preparations during the morning - the condemned man's last meal.

More frantic preparations - speech writing by Leighton (best man) and myself. Leighton had written his speech on his laptop, but neglected to bring a printer, and I hadn't written my speech yet. Both went well despite our best efforts.

last meal

The moment we'd all been waiting for - and a few had tipped wouldn't occur. The arrival of the bride! Her dad, Bruce, gave her away, and her dress was made by Lilian Campbell, a family friend.

My sister Bronwen did a reading. Courtesy of a slight muck up, she did the other reading too.

My back, as I'm saying my vows. Alicia, hidden behind me, is listening intently. A lot of the digital photos I have are like this, largely due to the heavy sprinkling of digital cameras amongst my uni friends on this side of the church.

Here we are signing the certificate. The minister, Chris Howard, provided a lovely pen, made of white plastic and green rubber for the posed photos.

Chris and Anna share a joke while Wes looks on whilst waiting for us to stop posing while we sign.

Milling about having just left the church. The main feature with all these shots is the fact that not one of us is looking at the same camera - there were after all about 50 of the things pointing our way.

The bridal party: Wes Moore, Anna Dingle, Andrew & Alicia, Melanie Rider, Leighton Judd and in the front, Declan, Indigo and Angus McKinnon.

Wesley, entertaining the bridesmaids. Seems he did a good job, as he and Anna (on the right) are now a couple.

cake

After the preliminary photos, we went back inside to cut the cake in front of all the guests.

After the cake, we disappeared off for more photos. Those who were invited to the morning tea left at this point, most in blissful ignorance of the reception being held afterwards for family and very close friends.

Here's a posed photo with a tree.

Here we are heading to the buffet lunch for the reception. The reception was catered for by church ladies, waited upon by church youth, and bartended by the church music director. Don't get much more religious than that!
